Why it exists
The history lives in six places, and none of them is with you.
A vaccination card in the kitchen drawer. An invoice in your email. A dosage your partner remembers and you don’t. Then you’re at an out-of-hours clinic at 11pm being asked what he’s currently on.

Medical history

Medication
Nobody has to remember whether the tablet was given.
Prescriptions become a schedule. Anyone with access logs a dose as it’s given, so the answer to "has he had it?" is on the screen instead of in a text message thread.

- Courses with an end date stop reminding you once they finish
- Allergies are recorded once and respected everywhere, including product suggestions

Paperwork

Certificates, invoices, lab results, pedigree papers, insurance documents. Text is pulled out of scans and phone photos, so a photographed vaccination card becomes searchable by its contents.

Health assistant
A second opinion at 11pm, that knows your animal.
Ask about a symptom and the answer is grounded in that animal’s own record — age, breed, current medication, known allergies. When the symptoms are the kind that should not wait, you are told to call a vet before anything else is discussed.

Privacy
Your animal’s records are nobody else’s business — including ours.
Separation between households is enforced by PostgreSQL row-level security, one layer below the application. A bug in our code cannot show you someone else’s records, because the database will not return the rows in the first place.
